EASTER: FUBARA SUPPORTS TINUBU

Fubara Calls for Reconciliation, Urges Support for Tinubu’s Agenda

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has appealed to the people of Rivers to embrace peace, unity, and a collective commitment to rebuilding a stronger and more united state.

In his Easter message released on Saturday, Fubara described the season as a time for reflection, reconciliation, and renewed hope. He urged citizens to allow the peace of Christ to guide their hearts and be evident in their everyday lives.

“Easter is a sacred period that calls for reconciliation and unity,” Fubara stated. “It is a time when the peace of Christ restores relationships, comforts the afflicted, feeds the hungry, and heals the brokenhearted.”

He continued, “It’s a moment to renew our shared belief that peace will triumph over conflict, and that broken dreams can rise again through the power of the resurrection.”

Reaffirming his commitment to the people, Fubara assured that Rivers State remains on the path of progress and transformation, regardless of current challenges.

“This season reinforces our faith that neither hardship, adversity, nor even death can separate us from God’s love in Christ. In Him, we are victorious,” he said. “I remain committed to delivering good governance to the resilient and dignified people of Rivers State.”

Fubara also called on the people to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing optimism for the future.

“I urge the good people of Rivers State to continue supporting and aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of our dear President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. A better tomorrow is possible if we stand together.”

He emphasized the importance of unity in achieving lasting change: “Let us never lose sight of our collective strength. The transformation we seek is within reach when we act as one people, united under God, committed to peace and progress.”

Fubara concluded by offering prayers of love, peace, and renewed strength to families across the state and wished Christians a joyful Easter celebration.

It will be recalled that on March 18, 2025, President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspending Governor Fubara, Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly. He also appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibok-ete Ibas as the sole administrator of the state.

Citing Section 305 of the 1999 Constitution, President Tinubu defended his decision, stating he could not stand by while the political situation in Rivers continued to deteriorate. However, the move has drawn widespread criticism.
